We often take the environment for granted. Children and Young People with Learning Disability and Autism can have sensory difficulties that can make a huge difference in their lives. Home Design is crucial to helping with the small and large aspects of sensory difficulties.
Soteria Children's Services thoroughly plan out each aspect of Home Design. This includes the flooring, furniture, providing appropriate space, lighting etc.
We consider outside space to be essential to help regulate emotional arousal, sensory schedules, and help children and young people find enjoyment in their living environment.
As a result we have created play areas, pizza ovens, outdoor learning spaces, football and sports areas. We aim to promote a healthy environment that helps channel and regulate behaviours and emotions.
The indoor and outdoor spaces facilitate social interactions and are also expansive to provide down time if needed with quiet areas that meet sensory needs.
