We consider our spaces special for development and growth. We have planned the layout of the house to provide a safe environment, both physically and emotionally. Careful consideration has been placed on what we provide and our spaces are heavily incorporated into this aspect.
Soteria Children's Services have a full therapy team and the support staff are trained in therapeutic interventions. The whole staff team follow a therapeutic model that provides children and young people with a safe environment to have excellent day to day experiences and opportunities to progress in their health, education and emotional, social and psychological wellbeing.
Family Kitchen
Our family kitchen provides children and young people with experiences to help them develop independent living skills. We take every opportunity to help children and young people to prepare for their futures. Our family kitchen provides a warm caring environment for meal times.
Cinema Room
We want children and young people to have fun and enjoy their time with us. We have a cinema room to enhance their experiences and help to bring the excitement to them. We aim to provide opportunities to have tailored experiences and group experiences.
Therapy Room
Therapy needs to be carried out in a space private confidential place. We have a dedicated therapy room but also have many options within the grounds to provide therapeutic space. Our therapy team will provide tailored care for each child and young person.
Sensory Room
We have a dedicated sensory integration room to meet the sensory needs of our children. We have an Occupational Therapist who can provide input to create sensory schedules for children.
Our staff are upskilled and instructed how to deliver therapeutic strategies on a daily basis to proactively support our children to develop independence with their needs.
Living Room
Our living room provides a nice warm welcoming and relaxing space for children. This space helps children to be part of the family experience at Scarcliffe House.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms are a private space for children and young people and we respect this aspect. They have some furniture already in their bedrooms but they will be invited to pick out furniture and decorations to suit their style. We aim to listen to children and young people's wishes and they can decorate their bedroom according to their taste.
Each of the bedrooms have an en-suite and suitable places to do their homework, watch TV and play games. They will have ample space for their belongings and clothes. We will help children and young people to look after their space and keep it tidy. We will take every opportunity to build life skills for the future.
Communal Area's
We have lots of space around the house that can be safe spaces to retreat or enjoy being around others. There are two great communal areas and we have a family room that is perfect for when visitors come and there is a need for a separate space.
Children and young people can use these spaces as much as they need. We have excellent communal spaces outside too and they provide an inviting environment with the big trees and green areas in our garden.
Outside Spaces
We are continually developing our outside spaces further. We have added more play equipment, chickens, swim spa, and a bouncy castle. We have a dedicated space for growing vegetables and plants.
We have a park (swings and slide) and a zip wire swing through the garden. This is enjoyed by children and young people and adults.
Our inside and outside spaces are aimed at helping sensory needs, psychological space, warmth and growth opportunities. We pride ourselves in providing a very tailored experience to meet their needs. We listen to children and young people's views and wishes and adapt our service as required to meet needs.
